General Overview

When planning your trip to
St. Lucia a valid passport
is required.
There are two
airports in St. Lucia,
located in the south of the
island in the Hewanorra
International Airport (UVF) in
Vieux Fort and located in
the north is George F. L.
Charles (SLU) in Castries.
They each are serviced by a
number of major airlines.
Airlines such as American
Airlines, Delta, Jet Blue, Virgin Atlantic,
British Airways, Air Canada
and WestJet fly into
the Hewanorra International
Airport (UVF) and
smaller airlines like Liat
and American Eagle arrive at
the Geroge F. L. Charles
Airport (SLU).
Augusta’s Apartments can
assist you in arranging your
taxi transfer from and to the
airport. The average cost
for a taxi from UVF is
US$80.00 one way and from SLU US$20.00 one way.
The prices are based
on one to four people
sharing the taxi.
Upon leaving the airport you
may choose stop at the
supermarket to pick up a few
items for your stay.
There are two major
supermarkets in Rodney Bay
about 5 minutes away from
the apartments.
Getting around St. Lucia can
easily be arranged by taxi,
rental car, water taxi or
through a local tour
representative. It is
recommended that a taxi be
arranged from the airport to
Augusta’s. If you decide to
get a rent a vehicle during
your stay, it can be brought
to you directly at the
airport or awaiting your
arrival at the apartment.
The local currency in St.
Lucia is Eastern Caribbean
Dollar (EC$) however the US
Dollars is widely accepted.
There are ATMs located in
all major supermarkets. The
exchange rate will vary. At
the bank it is EC$2.67 to
US$1.00 and at most local
businesses it is EC$2.60 to
US$1.00 for cash
transactions. |
